1.Product overview:

Ammonia nitrogen in water refers to the nitrogen that exists in the form of free nitrogen, which is mainly derived from the decomposition products of nitrogenous organic matter subject to microbial action in domestic sewage, industrial wastewater such as coking ammonia synthesis, and farmland drainage. Higher levels of ammonia and nitrogen in water can be toxic to fish and harmful to humans to varying degrees. Determination of ammonia nitrogen in water helps to evaluate the pollution and ‘self-purification’ status of the water body, so ammonia nitrogen is an important indicator to characterise the pollution of water quality.

The analyser is capable of long-term unattended automatic continuous work according to the site settings, and is widely used in industrial pollution source discharge wastewater, industrial process wastewater, industrial sewage treatment plant wastewater, municipal sewage treatment plant wastewater and other occasions. According to the complexity of the field test conditions, can be equipped with the appropriate pre-treatment system to ensure that the test process is reliable, accurate test results, to fully meet the needs of different occasions on-site.

2.Principle of the product:

This product uses salicylic acid colorimetric determination method, after mixing water samples and masking agent, ammonia nitrogen in the form of free state ammonia or ammonium ions, etc. exists in the alkaline environment and the presence of sensitizers, and the salicylate ions, hypochlorite ions react to generate a colour-containing complexes, the analyser detects the change of this colour, and converts this change into ammonia nitrogen value output to the output. The amount of coloured complex generated is equivalent to the amount of ammonia nitrogen. This method is suitable for wastewater with ammonia nitrogen in the range of 0-300mg/L, too high calcium and magnesium ions, residual chlorine or turbidity may interfere with the measurement.
